In April 2011, Seiko Epson filed a suit against Dynamic Cassette International for alleged patent infringement. While DCI vehemently denies the accusations, DCI files a counter suit, claiming what they are pursuing is “fair competition.” On November 24, the court rules in favor of DCI in Epson’s pleas of confidentiality. Another high court hearing overturned Epson’s refusal to accept the publication of the results of the hearing, in favor of DCI.
